ARLINGTON, MASS. – Sushil K. Tuli, President & CEO of Leader Bank, N.A. and Chairman of Leader Mortgage Company, recently made a generous $5,000 contribution to Project Pacer International, a Boston-based, non-profit organization that is dedicated to “delivering medical advances around the globe.”
Project Pacer International has been an active group since the mid 1980’s. The group primarily focuses on providing modern cardiac therapy to underprivileged patients throughout the developing world, but specializes in providing high technological treatment such as pacemaker implants and catheter-based therapies, including angioplasty, valvuloplasty, and ablation of arrhythmia.
Project Pacer International organizes medical missions based on invitations that they receive from partner physicians in the developing world. Recently, the group can be attributed to helping vast numbers of indigent patients in countries such as India, Morocco, and Bolivia.
About Sushil K. Tuli
Sushil K. Tuli has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Leader Bank, N.A. since its formation in 2002. Under his leadership, Leader Bank has grown from a start-up bank into a respected organization, maintaining approximately $220 million in assets and 4 branch locations. As a direct result of Mr. Tuli’s innovative management, Leader Bank is a 2008 recipient of the recommended 4-Star rating as presented by Bauer Financial, the nation’s leading independent bank rating and research firm.
In addition, Mr. Tuli is also Chairman and sole owner of Leader Mortgage Company, which was formed in 1986. Prior to October 2000, he also served as President of Leader Mortgage. In 1999, Mr. Tuli chaired the Massachusetts Mortgage Bankers Association (“MMBA”), the largest mortgage banking industry association in New England. From 1994 to 1996, Sushil served as a member of Fannie Mae’s Regional Advisory Council.
Sushil was selected as a finalist for the 2003 and 2005 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, which is currently in its 23rd year of recognizing exceptional entrepreneurial achievement and excellence.
In 1999, Banker and Tradesman acknowledged Mr. Tuli as one of the 125 leaders making a difference. Sushil was also prominently recognized by the Governor of Massachusetts in 1993, and more recently in 2008, for his contributions and dedicated service to the community.
Sushil Tuli received a bachelor’s degree in 1971 and a master’s of public administration in 1975 from Punjab University in India. He also has completed a certificate program in financial studies from the Massachusetts School for Financial Studies offered by the Massachusetts Bankers Association.
